Hello everyone!

I originally started this blog when I gave up Instagram my sophomore year of college for Lent. It was a way for me to have a creative outlet, without being so obsessed with likes and comments. 

Now, I'm a recent graduate from Saint Anselm College, and I'm trying to figure out where life is going to take me!

I've always had a love of writing, and this space gives me a place to express my ideas, and do something I love doing :)

Going from lost to a local

Before studying abroad, I have never left the U.S., let alone the East Coast. So, I knew packing my bag to travel halfway across the world for four months was going to be a challenge. Yet I did not know that in the first day my flight would be canceled, I would be stranded in the airport and left to figure out how to get to my hotel alone. To top it off the taxi's in Madrid went on strike. Needless to say, the first two days of my study abroad experience were not the best. Today's Grace

I just wanted to share some moments of grace from today :) This time of quarantine has been particularly hard for my little brother, Zack. I mean imagine being a 12 year old boy confined to the house with two older sisters... who want very little to do with you. One day he came into my room to chat, and I asked him if he was okay. His response broke my heart, "mentally I'm not ok from being in quarantine for so long." That was a literal kick in the gut, to see my happy go lucky little brother so broken down and dejected.  However, today was a different story. Today he came bounding in my room exclaiming, "I'm so happy!" I asked him why and he explained that, "this could not have been a better day." Let me tell you, I was smiling from ear to ear as he detailed the day he had. It was one of the best feelings in the world that he was so happy. I felt like the Holy Spirit came bursting into the room with him-- it was a textbook grace moment.  A lovely

Little Things

In 2013 a tragedy happened in my hometown. Beloved teacher, Colleen Ritzer, was murdered at Danvers High School. Our community was devastated. But, in the midst of sorrow we joined together. We adopted two quotes commonly used by Ms. Ritzer: "everyday may not be good, but there is something good in everyday" and "be good to people, being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind." These two quotes have stuck with me every since.          Everyday I am reminded of these quotes. They emphasize the importance of being kind to each other and finding positivity. Often, I wonder how I can honor Ms. Ritzer's memory through these quotes. The best way I can think of is to combine them together: be kind to people by reminding them of the good in everyday.         Reminding people that there is good in everyday can seem like an unwieldy task, but there are small ways to remind people of the good.
