Today's Grace

I just wanted to share some moments of grace from today :)

This time of quarantine has been particularly hard for my little brother, Zack. I mean imagine being a 12 year old boy confined to the house with two older sisters... who want very little to do with you. One day he came into my room to chat, and I asked him if he was okay. His response broke my heart, "mentally I'm not ok from being in quarantine for so long." That was a literal kick in the gut, to see my happy go lucky little brother so broken down and dejected.

However, today was a different story. Today he came bounding in my room exclaiming, "I'm so happy!" I asked him why and he explained that, "this could not have been a better day." Let me tell you, I was smiling from ear to ear as he detailed the day he had. It was one of the best feelings in the world that he was so happy. I felt like the Holy Spirit came bursting into the room with him-- it was a textbook grace moment.

A lovely friend of mine, Colleen, also started a blog. It is a beautiful testament to her faith, and it's the reason why I was inspired to start working on my own blog again. Today, she posted about a grace moment she encountered a few days ago. Her post warmed my heart, and nearly brought me to tears. What moved me most was she told me that she wrote the post from lessons she learned from me, at a retreat we both helped to lead. I was speechless, just knowing that just a few of my words made an impact on her life.

A little while later, I decided to go on a drive and listen to my Christian Love playlist. Colleen's blog reminded me of church I drove past regularly, but rarely did I pay attention to. For the first time just a few days ago I noticed a quote on the back of it. Today, I drove by so I could read what it said:

 "Thou shalt love
 the Lord thy God
 with all thy heart and
with all thy soul and
with all thy mind and
with all thy strength
thou shalt love
thy neighbor as thyself"
- Jesus

I have driven by this sign hundreds of times, and I never knew what it said. It put a smile on my face, as I drove around aimlessly, singing at the top of my lungs. I felt Him humming along with me as I drove home.
